How far from Cherry Point are you willing to stay? Go to Kayak.com and search for hotels that way. There were a bunch of hotels with reasonable prices but they were in Wilmington, Fayetteville,etc. As for reading reviews you have to judge them for yourself. Look at a room before you pay to stay there. I have stayed in nice hotels that had bad reviews.
